ONE..... (Two Giveaway winners)
Would ya'll look who I forgot! Isn't she a single sweetie? Yup, after I made that long, long slideshow of my collection of bunnies I left out one lonely little wide eared floppy legged bunny. I'm not sure this Ozark Farm Chick agrees with the song that bears the title of this post. "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do" is the first line of the song that Harry Nilsson wrote and recorded.
I kinda like one. One is a good strong number. It stands alone firm and tall. When ya think about it, it only takes one to be happy and enjoy a beautiful day. It takes one to flash a smile to a lonely stranger or indulge in a decadent piece of chocolate. (Mmmm. I'm droolin' like a teethin' four month baby here.) One can read, exercise, snap the perfect photo or paint a masterpiece. This chick can enjoy aromatic flower gardens, relish a good book or belt out a great tune without the help of another livin soul. Heaven knows I'm the only one 'round the Ponderosa deep cleanin' and I sure don't require any help enjoyin' a scented bubble bath. There needs be only one to be creative, write a story or make a difference. Most important of all, it take only one to worship and praise God. Yep, one is a perfect number!
The second line of this song says, "two can be as bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one." Wrong! I'm not even gonna go there...wouldn't be prudent but two is a very lucky number for me 'cause I have two fabulous Happy Easter winners. Yep, usin' Random Generator, Miss Tracy over at My Thoughtful Spot and Miss Deb at Smith Family Cookbook each won a $25.00 gift certificate over at The Rusted Chain for a wonderful piece of jewelry! Woohoo!!! Don't that just make your toes curl? Thank you Beki for your generosity. Congratulations to both Tracy and Deb, please enjoy your new baubles. Hop on over, pat 'em on the back, say howdy and tell 'em Nezzy sent ya. If ya haven't check out The Rusted Chain...go... do it now...your in for a treat better than cold chocolate ice cream on a warm summer day!
I'm not so sure that Mr Nilsson knew what he was talkin' about when he wrote 'One' but the world truly loved it when the rock group Three Dog Night snagged it and cut a single in 1969. 'One' soared like a hawk after one of my songbirds to #5 on the Billboards Hot 100. Nope, this chick doesn't believe that one is the loneliest number nor do I buy that two can be as bad as one 'cause I adore bein' hitched. I'm one gal, one child of God and one farm chick who simply loves bein' "One"!!!

ReplyDeleteGreat song - one can be the loneliest but you are right that there are many good activities for just one to do. However when you are done doing your one stuff don't you want to share it with more than one.
ReplyDeleteOne is a lonely number of comments on a blog.
Love that song and I agree.
ReplyDeleteToo far behind to get in the hat for the drawing but congratulations to all the lucky winners.
Cute bunny! Congrats to your winners. My fav 3 dog night song is "Never been to Spain!"

I only know one song by Three Dog Night and it's "Joy to the World." I love that song! The kids have learned it, too, and would sing along when I play it in the car. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners! I used to love going to the movies on a Sunday afternoon all by myself...I didn't have to share any of the popcorn!
ReplyDeleteLOVE 3 Dog Night! My first kiss was to one of their songs.....ya TMI!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute stuff. You are so kind to do that.
I love Three Dog Night. Here is my story. I was supposed to go to their concert in 1971 and several nights before, I was joking with my girlfriend and said the only thing that could keep me away was if I got sick. You guessed it, the day of the concert my appendix burst and I had to spend 8 days in the hospital. About five years ago Chuck Negron was performing locally as "The Voice of Three Dog Night". It was super, I was up front and got a bit weepy. HE was the band to me anyway. After the show he signed autographs and took pictures with fans. A great guy with a great story.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners and you took me back! I saw Three Dog Night in concert.... Made me melancholy......... A more simple life.......
ReplyDeleteSending hug your way......
Hi sweet friend! I haven't been by lately...life has been crazy busy and there's no end in sight since I'll be gone for a long weekend and then my grandchildren will be here next week. Life is good though so I'm not complaining!

ReplyDeleteI love to even sit down in a restaurant and eat lunch alone and enjoy the looks I get, haha.
But you know we are never actually alone,God is always beside us and that will always be enough for me
Blessings to you

Thanks for putting that song back in my head (sarcasm is oozing from that statement). It's not that I didn't like the song, but it's one of those that gets in there and won't leave. LOL

ReplyDeleteWhat lucky ladies they are to have won!
ReplyDeleteGOOD EVENING DARLIN'!!! Oh Nezzy, thank you for stepping into my faery tale; I so want to make each day a dream...a time in space to create peace....and was that NOT the most beautiful wedding? The fact that most of US were all there watching from our corners of the world added to the magic. For that one moment, we were hoping, dreaming along with them. God be praised!!!! Anita
ReplyDeleteDear Nezzy this was great, and I grew up with Three Dog Night so it was right up my alley. And oh, your comment on my blog was just beautiful: "my hopes are to dance with Jesus". What an absolutely beautiful thing to look forward to. I will never forget that imagery.
ReplyDeleteRuben
Congrats to the winners! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaways!...Thanks for dropping by!
ReplyDeleteI AM PUTTING THIS MESSAGE ON EVERYONE'S COMMNT PAGE:
ReplyDeleteI pride myself on trying to visit everyone I follow as often as possible. I enjoy all of you so much and have deliberately surrounded myself with the type of up-beat, happy bloggers as possible.
However, recently I have taken in my 32 year old granddaughter and her two children. It has been such a monumental change for me I am finding it hard to keep up my blogging, and my visiting.
I hate to admit it but there have been some difficulties with adjustments (on both sides) and I find that I just don't have the time to do the things I want to do. I also seem to be letting it get me down.
Just give me some time and I will be back on my game soon....I'm sure......kt
I guess some people can feel lonely alone or with people. I'm not sure what he meant either! I always liked that song though. Love the bunny and congrats to the winners.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners! I LOVE your adorable little bunny! What a cutie-pie!

Congratulations to your winners!!
ReplyDeleteYour bunny is just so sweet! LOVE IT!!!
Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day, Nezzy!♥
ReplyDeleteNezzy honey so happy that I came by today. I first want to congradulate your very lucky winners. I know their excited.
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to thank you for being such a lovely friend that you are to me. I can not tell you how much I appreciate your sweet comments. Just wish I could write something happy again and not about pain. Maybe I can this weekend since I am off but Sat morning has flown by already.
If I had not been off today I am sure I would of ended up in the emergency room again. My pain level is just to high to working in a jail but right now I just have to grin and bare it.
Also my daughter moved in with me after her attack on Good Friday. I was shocked when she showed up here Tuesday night but of course she is always welcome. It will just take a lot of adjustments. Funny how the very next day I had to return to work when she moved in. Her dog and my cat are going to be one major adjustment.
I am waiting for her to tell her brothers before I post about it.
I wanted to wish you a very Happy Mother's Day my sweet dear friend.
Hope you enjoy your special day
Love ya
Maggie
Hello precious Nezzy,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by to see me today. I LOVE it when you visit my blog.
I am soooo afraid to ask but I didn't see your gadget for Angel Dawn...is she okay and are you okay?
It is draining on a parent or friend no matter how much you love them, to carry the burden of 24 hour care, knowing all the time it will be a tragic out come. Amy received a miracle when she had cancer at the age of 10 1/2 and had radiation and then chemo for 4 years The human body is sooo complex, it is a wonder we all live and breathe day to day
I'll try to stay in touch with you more.
hugs and love
